CURRICULUM
The curriculum is organized around content areas, including the alphabet, home, family, classroom objects, body parts, animals, physical states, weather, seasons, nature, telling time, months of the year, food, cognates, opposites, clothing, likes and dislikes, geography of Spanish-speaking countries, Hispanic heritage, and holiday celebrations, to name a few.
The goal of this curriculum is to develop positive attitudes and excitement toward learning the Spanish language. As Catholic school educator, we believe that understanding a different culture will create an appreciation and awareness for the diversity of all God’s children.
GOALS
The goal of this curriculum is to develop positive attitudes and excitement toward learning the Spanish language. Through the skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing, students are able to broaden their awareness, acceptance and understanding of the Hispanic culture.
Additionally, elements of the Catholic faith tradition are integrated into this Spanish curriculum in order to provide a meaningful language and cultural experience within the context of the Catholic faith.
