WHAT YOU ARE EXPECTED TO LEARN
You are expected to acquire, to the best of your ability, knowledge of the oral and written skills related to the study of Spanish with emphasis on the various cultures of the Spanish-speaking world. In addition, such skills as reading, writing, speaking and listening, will be further developed and refined as a result of this course.
MY EXPECTATIONS
Attendance and punctuality. All absences must be excused – only those individuals with an excused absence will be allowed to make up missed work (this includes quizzes / exams). Class will begin once the bell rings.
Come prepared. The following is a partial list of required materials for the class: workbook or binder, pen / pencil, homework, homework documentation sheet and flashcards.
Use of Spanish. The best way to learn a second language is to use it!. Students are expected to use as much Spanish as possible when communicating with teacher and / or students. Excessive use of English will lower classroom participation grade.
Bathroom / water breaks. Students are encouraged to use the bathroom before or after class. Discretion must be used when asking for a bathroom / water break during class and breaks will only be granted at appropriate times. Cell phones must remain stored in backpack at all times!
Homework: Homework will be given on Wednesday and Fridays and will be written on the white board. All homework will be due at the beginning of the period unless otherwise specified. LATE HOMEWORK WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED unless arrangements have been made with teacher. To be accepted for full credit, homework must include the student’s name, date, period and task. Assignments turned in with no name will receive no credit.
YOUR EXPECTATIONS
You can expect to receive help from me either in class or after school. Similarly, just as I expect you to come to class prepared ready to work and participate, you should expect the same from me.
